Robert J. Farrell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Bob Farrell serves as chairman and CEO of Metastorm and oversees global operations and strategic direction. Bob brings over 20 years of experience in building high-growth software companies.

He has extensive background in international business and technology and most recently served as President of Mercator Software, a publicly traded provider of enterprise application integration solutions. Farrell also served as COO at LeadingSide, a worldwide provider of unstructured data solutions, and held executive management positions at Computer Horizons Corp., a provider of IT services and solutions to the Fortune 1,000. An entrepreneur, Bob also launched his own company that provided strategic consolidation and integration solutions to Global 2,000 firms; growing the company significantly before managing its acquisition.

In all these positions, Bob has been accountable for implementing strategies that create customer, shareholder and employee value. Accomplishments include significant revenue growth, M&A activity, strategic channel partnership development, capital raises, and new market and technology development and introductions for large global organizations.


Eileen Garry, Chief Marketing Officer
Eileen spearheads the refinement of the Metastorm corporate branding and positioning, the expansion of market and product strategy, and the launch of global marketing initiatives via direct and indirect channels. With many years of business-to-business, high-technology marketing experience, Eileen has expertise that transcends multiple specialties and includes stimulating demand for vertically-oriented solutions on an enterprise scale.

As Chief Marketing Officer at enterprise integration vendor Mercator Software, Eileen focused the firm around a vertical market strategy and was responsible for all global marketing functions. In her 15 years at Hyperion Solutions, she helped grow the company into a $500 million provider of business performance management software, holding positions of increasing responsibility in product management, product marketing, corporate marketing, and business development.


Christopher Desautelle, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Finance
Chris oversees the company’s financial, human resources, information technology and administrative functions. While at Metastorm, Chris has been led the effort to raise over $60 million in equity and debt capital to fund Metastorm’s growth. He also is instrumental in Metastorm’s corporate development activities, and is responsible for driving the company’s M&A activities.

Chris joined Metastorm from financial services firm Legg Mason where he was a Vice-President and Enterprise Software Research Analyst. Prior to that Chris was CFO for XDB Systems, a database and middleware software company, and he served as Controller for Passport Corporation, a vendor of 4gl client/server enterprise software tools. He also held a variety of positions with investment house PaineWebber, in its Investment Banking and Merchant Banking operations. He holds a BS from Marist College and a MBA from the University of Connecticut.


Greg Carter, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Development
As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Vice President of Product Development, Greg leads Metastorm's Business Process Management (BPM) research and development group and is responsible for setting the company’s technology and architecture vision. In addition, he oversees the development and rollout of software and industry solutions to meet market needs. In this role, Greg works closely with customers, industry influencers, and the product team to ensure that Metastorm remains the market leader in BPM solution innovation.

Greg has played an integral role at Metastorm for over 5 years, beginning in 2000 when Metastorm acquired Software Systems Group – a services company he co-founded and ran as Vice President and Director. Upon joining Metastorm, Greg created and led the North American Professional Services organization and was responsible for developing and nurturing an implementation and integration channel that includes partners across throughout the United States, Latin America, and Canada. Greg was also instrumental in establishing a BPM training curriculum that includes an industry-leading certification program for development partners and customers of Metastorm’s BPM software. Through his direct work with Metastorm’s 1200+ customer base, Greg has gained extensive experience architecting and implementing enterprise-level business process management solutions across a broad range of functional areas.

Prior to joining Metastorm, Greg held various development and systems integration roles in the document management space and has over 15 years of experience in architecting and deploying process-centric enterprise applications for various industries.


Mike Shaw, Vice President of Americas Sales
Mike is responsible for all of Metastorm’s field operations across the Americas region. These responsibilities include managing direct sales, channel relationships, and professional services delivery in support of Metastorm’s customers and partners throughout the Americas.

Prior to taking on this assignment in 2005, Mike spent three years as Director of Sales for Metastorm and was instrumental in growing the Metastorm direct sales and channel organizations in North America. Before coming to Metastorm in 2001, Mike spent nearly 20 years in corporate sales and executive leadership positions. This experience includes channel sales development at MicroStrategy, Inc. and 16 years of highly successful sales and sales executive experience with Automatic Data Processing, Inc. Mike holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Maryland.


Robin Martin, Vice President of International Sales
As a seasoned BPM sales & operational professional, Robin is responsible for Metastorm’s international field operations, including direct sales, channel relationships, and professional services.

Prior to joining Metastorm, Robin served as a Director and COO of Portrait Software. Robin has been a consistent high achiever in Sales and Management roles with major software companies. Robin worked for Staffware from 1994 until its sale to Tibco in 2003 and was Chief Operating Officer from 2001. During his time at Staffware, Robin was responsible for building the company’s worldwide Sales and Partner network. At Tibco, Robin became SVP Global Field Operations. Robin is a Computer Science graduate who has also worked in technical and sales roles for companies including Hytec Information Systems, TIS Limited (a division of Misys) and COBOL specialist Micro Focus.


Swata Gandhi, General Counsel and Vice President
Swata is responsible for the company’s legal and compliance functions. As the newest member of the management team, she brings over ten years of corporate legal experience, including extensive work on various types of business transactions including mergers and acquisitions, loan transactions and drafting of general corporate and licensing documentation. Ms. Gandhi’s experience also involves providing general corporate and business counsel while actively working with key management to help drive business.

Prior to joining Metastorm, Swata served as an Assistant General Counsel for U.S. Foodservice, Inc., the second largest broadline food distribution company in the U.S. She previously was a senior associate at Venable LLP, a top 100 law firm. Swata received her BA in Political Science and English from Villanova University, her MA in International Affairs from American University, and her JD from American University. She is a member of the Maryland Bar and American Bar Association.


Janet Halma, Vice President of Business Development
Janet leads business development for Metastorm with over 22 years experience in the information technology industry, holding various positions in sales and executive leadership. During the past ten years, Janet added to her highly successful sales experience and led business development initiatives, including the development and launch of a formal channel program. Her vast expertise was instrumental in the establishment and management of several highly successful OEM relationships.

Previously, Janet held various sales positions during her twelve years with IBM. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Florida State University.
