ProVision Secures Position as Finalist in Prestigious Jolt Award Competition
Proforma's Enterprise Modeling Solution Only Tool of its Kind to Make List
SOUTHFIELD, MICH. -- January 25, 2006 -- Proforma Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise modeling solutions, announced today that CMP Media's Software Development magazine has selected ProVision 5.0 as a finalist in the "Enterprise Project Management" category for the prestigious 2006 Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards.

ProVision is one of six finalists in its broad category. Known for ease of use, scalability and web-based repository access, version 5.0 fully incorporates three paradigms --business process modeling, data/information modeling, and application/technology modeling-- making it easier for business and IT departments to collaborate on projects. The product was launched in fall 2005. Other new and improved features include:
- Strategic Planning - Six new robust modelers define and structure related impacts of plans, projects, goals, metrics, problems and opportunities. By documenting and analyzing these strategic components, process redesign, process improvement, organizational alignment and technology decisions are consistent with organizational strategic direction.
- Technical Architecture - Four new technical modelers and related objects provide structure for the physical environmental aspects necessary for system implementation. Successful support of technical architecture optimizes technology investment and provides adequate technical capabilities for all deployed application systems.
- Visualization- A navigator empowers enterprises to clearly view, modify and easily traverse ProVision's integrated repository that houses the models and objects. This utilizes innovative neighborhood functionality to allow users to select a given object and progressively disclose selected associations to other objects in the notebook.
- Interoperability- ProVision 5.0 features a flexible new interoperability layer based upon the ProVision Common Interchange Format (CIF). CIF supports full traceability between tools for business process analysis, business process management, business rules engines, enterprise portfolio modernization and metadata management.
