Metastorm BPM Technology Improved Agency’s Process Management

BALTIMORE, MD – October 11, 2006 – Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) software for modeling, automating, integrating, and improving both human and system-based processes, today announced its software has been successfully deployed at the Louisiana Department of Revenue, the department responsible for administering state tax laws and collecting revenues to fund state services in Louisiana.

Using Metastorm BPM, the agency has increased efficiency and productivity across its organization by developing a web-enabled, streamlined, collaborative process for its IT Service Requests. Metastorm BPM enabled the Louisiana Department of Revenue to transform a manual process into a formalized, efficient, automated process. Prior to implementing the Metastorm software, all requests were completed by hand and the procedure lacked accountability and tracking.

Metastorm partner, Blue Streak Technologies, worked with the agency to develop and implement the Metastorm BPM solution. The IT Service Request process at the agency is now documented and the automation has significantly reduced errors resulting from manual routing issues – resulting in higher productivity of its employees.

The management and control capabilities that Metastorm provides have also improved process cycle times and the ability to keep track of resource availability. Users are empowered with access to real-time information, and managers can ensure work-in-process is accounted for and tracked and that deadlines are being met.
