Proforma Positioned in Leaders Quadrant for Business Process Analysis
SOUTHFIELD, MICH. -- June 13, 2007 -- Proforma Corporation announced today that it is positioned in the leaders quadrant in Gartner, Inc.'s Magic Quadrant for Business Process Analysis (BPA) Tools, 2H07-1H08. Authored by Michael Blechar and released on June 8, 2007, the report positions 13 BPA vendors based on product functions and features, quality and quantity of alliance partnerships and distribution channels, overall financial healthiness, and long-term viability.
The report says that "BPA tools continue to grow in importance as business managers and process architects seek to better understand, streamline and automate their business process, and communicate their needs to IT professionals."
"Linkage to the workflow assembly and orchestration engines and business activity monitoring tools is driving BPA into the mainstream for BP improvement initiatives," Blechar wrote. "Understanding complex business processes presents a significant challenge. The assistance of a tool with visualization and other features such as activity-based costing helps to optimize business processes and realize BPM (business process management) cost and time savings."
Proforma has strengthened its market position with a number of moves and achievements in the last several months:
- Launching ProVision 6.0 - With powerful new capabilities that go "beyond modeling" to accelerate process change, support alignment and enable agility, ProVision 6.0 is the next-generation release of Proforma's world-leading enterprise modeling solution. Released in spring 2007, it is the most effective platform for understanding and managing change, inspiring innovation and realizing agility.
- Releasing industry's first SaaS offering - Proforma is the first enterprise modeling solution provider to deliver Software-As-A-Service (SaaS). This new offering allows organizations to utilize a secure server hosted by Proforma to store ProVision repositories in a collaborative environment, thus making it even easier, faster and more cost-effective for them to share and manage critical business information.
- Continuing focus on strategic partnerships - Proforma was elevated to the status of Managed Partner for Microsoft. This makes Proforma part of a distinguished group of approximately 300 other software and service companies that engage very closely with Microsoft on key customer or product initiatives. In addition, Proforma and Cerner Corp., the leading supplier of healthcare information technology, entered into an agreement that provides Cerner customers with access to ProVision, enabling them to achieve critical improvements to their processes and ultimately enhance the quality of patient care.
- Increasing opportunities for interoperability - A groundbreaking interface between ProVision and the Metastorm BPM suite allows rapid deployment of ProVision process models on the Metastorm BPM software platform -- providing a mechanism for automating, managing, and analyzing process performance and optimizing processes over time.
"We are pleased to be positioned in Gartner's leaders quadrant for BPA," said Ron Pellegrino, Proforma president. "Proforma is committed to offering robust business process analysis and enterprise architecture solutions that deliver best in class usability. We will continue to lead by setting the standard for the most comprehensive and intuitive solutions for today's global enterprises."
