CSX Selects Metastorm Software for Process Improvement

BALTIMORE, MD - December 5, 2007 - Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM), Business Process Analysis (BPA), and Enterprise Architecture (EA) software for aligning strategy with execution, today announced that its software has been selected by CSX Corporation, a transportation company providing rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck transload services, and connecting to more than 70 ocean, river and lake ports.

CSX will use the Metastorm ProVision® enterprise modeling solution to analyze and improve its core business processes, including the development of an enterprise process model to support existing projects and help lean processes through value stream mapping and process simulation. In addition, Metastorm ProVision will enable CSX to define business processes as they relate to long-term strategies and goals and to support the development of a Service-Oriented Architecture.

CSX selected Metastorm ProVision after a thorough evaluation process. Key criteria included ease of use, BPMN compliance, the ability to capture and visualize the entire enterprise including strategies, process, systems and data, as well as Metastorm ProVision’s strong analysis and reporting capabilities.
