AMEC Selects Metastorm Software for Enterprise Transformation Initiative

LONDON, UK and BALTIMORE, MD – May 12, 2009 – Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM), Business Process Analysis (BPA), and Enterprise Architecture (EA) software for aligning strategy with execution, today announced that AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, is successfully using the Metastorm software suite to support its enterprise-wide ‘Operational Excellence’ business transformation effort.
The Metastorm software has been used across AMEC as a support system for AMEC’s global ‘Operational Excellence’ initiative to establish process efficiencies and cost savings across the AMEC enterprise. Several teams were formed to build a business case and value proposition for the implementation of BPM technology – an exhaustive and very high profile effort that took place over six months.
AMEC’s key criteria for its selection of a shortlist of vendors included items such as:
- How well aligned was the vendor with Microsoft technology?
- Could the vendor support a global IT strategy with support and services?
- Was the vendor a top performer in all of the key analyst reports?
- What did the product roadmap look like and where was the company headed in terms of product strategy?
Six suppliers were shortlisted and asked for detailed proposals. The final vendors were then put through various stages of the selection process – which ranged from written submissions to proof of concept builds to customer reference visits. Ultimately the outcome was the selection of Metastorm BPM® and Metastorm ProVision®.
AMEC has already achieved numerous benefits from its first deployments of Metastorm BPM – including cost reduction, productivity improvements, paper reduction and green sustainability, and risk reduction and compliance.
