Strategy Modeler

The Strategy Modeler allows strategic components such as goals, problems, opportunities, rules and environmental influences to be related in a single model to display the strategic influence each has on the others. The influence relationships among them can then be visually charted and better understood. (for example, the influence of problems inhibiting the attainment of goals, the influence of opportunities to solve problems, the influence of environmental influences restricting the realization of opportunities, etc.)

This model can be used for a variety of purposes, such as supporting the balanced scorecard approach for setting goals and measuring performance, or cause and effect.

Goal Modeler

A Goal model is a hierarchy that organizes goals and their metrics for a business domain. Goals and metrics may be organized in a variety of ways depending on the categorization scheme used.

A typical categorization scheme organizes goals by target. For example, all customer satisfaction goals are grouped, as are employee effectiveness goals, product quality goals, etc. These categories are then arranged in a hierarchy from general to specific. Goal models may be built to mirror a Process model, where the top-level goals apply to a process, and are then detailed based upon the components. Likewise, Goal models may be built to correlate with an organization's structure.

Problem Modeler

A Problem model is a hierarchy that organizes the problems experienced by the business. Problem models describe process inhibitors within component activities and show the cause and effect relationships between problems.

A Problem model places a general problem at the highest level in the hierarchy. More specific problems that cause general problems are organized below it.

Opportunity Modeler

The Opportunity model presents a hierarchy that organizes the opportunities developed for the business. Opportunity models are developed to consolidate the strategic and process possibilities for the business, and provide a place to store cost/benefit information.

An Opportunity model places a general opportunity category at the highest level in the hierarchy. More specific opportunities that comprise general opportunities are organized below it.

Impact Modeler

The Impact model organizes into a hierarchy the possible Impacts an enterprise may experience. An Impact is a likely outcome, such as a cost, benefit or risk, of an effort within the enterprise. These efforts may include Plans, Projects, Business Processes, Opportunities, Requirements, etc.
