Metastorm BPM Foundation Training Course
This five-day course offers material suitable for Process Analysts, Process Developers and Process Architects through its multi-tiered structure:
Day 1 - Metastorm BPM for Process Analysts
Who should attend: Business Process Analysts, Metastorm BPM project leads, anyone who will be involved in process analysis and design using Metastorm BPM.
Prerequisites: Experience in using windows-based software products and an understanding of business process analysis
The first day of our Foundation Course concentrates on process design using the Metastorm BPM Process Designer. Attendees come away from the experience with the ability to create process diagrams using Metastorm BPM’s powerful graphical designer. In addition they will have an understanding of the core Metastorm BPM principles, enabling them to effectively communicate with Metastorm BPM developers.
Specific outcomes include:
- Familiarity with Metastorm BPM foundation concepts
- Understanding how a Metastorm BPM design is presented and delivered to end-users
- Creating graphical representations of ideal business processes, including process forms and role requirements
Days 2-4 - Metastorm BPM for Process Developers
Who should attend: Developers who will be creating business process management solutions using Metastorm BPM.
Prerequisites: Development experience. An understanding of fundamental database concepts (table structure, primary keys, referential integrity, and normalization) and a working knowledge level of SQL statements (SELECT, INSERT, DELETE & UPDATE) is essential. Attendees should have application development experience.
This three-day course provides hands-on development experience with Metastorm BPM, giving developer students the necessary skills to develop a business process application using Metastorm BPM.
Specific outcomes include:
- Understanding the system architecture of the Metastorm BPM production and development environments
- Ability to develop complete Metastorm BPM applications
- Ability to integrate Metastorm BPM with external databases
- Troubleshooting procedures in the design process.
Day 5- Metastorm BPM for Process Architects
Who should attend: Developers who will be integrating with third-party applications.
Prerequisites: Experience using scripting languages (VB or Jscript).
This one-day class builds on the content introduced in the Metastorm BPM for Process Developers course, with a specific focus on more advanced topics. Participants will leave the class able to:
- Utilize Metastorm BPM Libraries, Form Segments and Map Segments
- Utilize Metastorm BPM’s scripting integration
- Utilize Metastorm BPM’s sub-procedures, flags, and flagged actions features
Metastorm BPM For Administrators
Who should attend: System administrators who will be responsible for day-to-day administration of a Metastorm BPM implementation
Prerequisites: An understanding of fundamental database concepts (table structure, primary keys, referential integrity, and normalization) and a working knowledge level of basic SQL statements.
This one-day course provides network and database administrators the requisite knowledge to successfully administer a Metastorm BPM environment. Specifically the participants in this course will:
- Obtain a basic understanding of Metastorm BPM design principles and core Metastorm BPM concepts, such as folder identifications, procedures, publishing, version control
- Understand the function of the key Metastorm BPM components and the overall architecture of an Metastorm BPM deployment
- Understand the capabilities included in the administrative utilities and procedures provided with Metastorm BPM
- Understand how to configure the end-user environment to include additional Metastorm BPM services or to group blank and administrative forms.
