Brief Description of Functionality

The ProVision Borland CaliberRM Exchange™ allows textual requirements held within an Borland® CaliberRM™ project to be linked with models and associated objects within a ProVision Notebook. Changes to the textual requirements or ProVision models can be managed and traced in either direction. Wizard based exchange initiated from within ProVision to exchange information from the current Notebook with a CaliberRM project.

  • Automatic traceability – Once synchronized, textual requirements can be linked to any number of ProVision objects within the CaliberRM project. CaliberRM auto detects any changes to ProVision objects and requirements, flagging them for validation.
  • Traceability viewing in ProVision – The interface supports ad-hoc traceability reports by selecting model objects within ProVision and viewing a report directly from the ProVision utility.
  • ProVision requirement objects synchronised into CaliberRM – ProVision Requirement Objects can be synchronized into CaliberRM, allowing key requirements to be managed using ProVision’s “association” mechanism.
  • Automatic creation of Requirement Types – The CaliberRM Exchange automatically detects if the current CaliberRM project has ProVision requirement types and creates them if needed.
  • Smart requirement categories – Requirements are categorised by type and by ProVision model, allowing smart classification of requirement/object links.
  • Capture text requirements directly – CaliberRM allows text base requirements to be captured directly from Microsoft Word documents and classified within the CaliberRM project.
  • Easy linking of requirements to models – the Borland CaliberRM system allows grid based graphical linking of requirements to any number of ProVision objects. ProVision GUID based references avoids name change or object copying problems.
  • Full history logging – CaliberRM keeps to a full history log of changes to ProVision Objects, their status and the linkage to requirements, allowing Project Managers to keep a complete audit trail of changes to specifications.
  • Requirements created from ProVision – The requirements viewer allows ad-hoc requirements to be created from ProVision, based on selected objects.
  • Comprehensive traceability reporting –Traceability reporting allows the identification of requirements, ProVision models or objects that have changed to be identified and the impact assessed. Other reports are provided to allow the identification of requirements not yet traced to ProVision objects.
